Another release under the prestigious Somalian Elephant series is now available at Raw Gold & Diamond Co. As usual, these 2019 1 oz Somalian Elephant Silver Coins feature a brand-new design on the reverses to mesmerize collectors and investors. First introduced in 1999, these coins started their journey as Zambian Silver Elephant Coins. However, the Bavarian State Mint struck a deal with Somalia in the year 2004 to continue producing these silver coins, with only the country backing and issuing them changing to Somalia from that year onwards. Each of these coins contains 1 troy ounce of 0.9999 pure silver. Moreover, they have the official backing of the Somalian Government – attested by the legal tender value of 100 shillings assigned to them. An elephant is said to represent the collective strength and wisdom of the Somalian people.
